Shop the Sales
At the end of each season, you can find wedding dresses at significant discount at your local bridal shop. They need to clear out the inventory to make room for the new season’s designs. There’s even room to haggle. So don’t be afraid to try to talk down the cost a bit with your salesperson.

Head to the Thrift Shop
You can find cool vintage gowns at thrift shops and re-sale stores. Also don’t forget about eBay. On eBay, you can find brides that have been stood up at the altar or have cancelled their wedding for some reason. Most of them are mad enough that are willing to get rid of their gown for cheap.

Wear Your Mom’s Dress
It’s an old school tradition that many brides forget about. Wearing your mom, grandmother or aunt’s bridal gown is a terrific way to pay tribute to you family, while also saving some cash. Unless there is a drastic difference in your size, you should be able to get the dress altered to fit.

Rent a Dress
If you aren’t nostalgic about keeping your wedding dress packed in the back of your closet in a box for the rest of your life, there’s nothing wrong with renting. Men rent their tuxedos, so why not consider renting your bridal gown?
