When planning your wedding colors, don’t think you have to stick to the basics (pink/white, lavender/ivory, peach/cream). Instead, experiment a little and play with the idea of more bold, vibrant colors. Here are a few unexpected wedding color palettes to consider.
Fuchsia and Chocolate Brown
Fuchsia or other hot pinks are a fabulous option for spring and summer weddings. But instead of pairing it with light colors, how about a darker brown. The colors look great together and it’s a terrific choice for a late summer/early fall wedding.
Plum and Charcoal Grey
If I were getting married in autumn or winter, plum and grey would be the colors I’d pick. Deep plum bridesmaids dresses look fabulous in less traditional fabrics. Consider velvets rather than chiffons.
Tangerine Orange, Cobalt Blue and Cocoa Brown
This unique combination of colors will make your wedding day unforgettable. Just make sure that your bridesmaids are prepared for the power of orange. It doesn’t work well on everyone, so also consider using the blue as the primary color and accenting with orange and brown.
Cranberry and Forest Green
If you are getting married in the winter, don’t overlook the red and green combination. Certainly, you shouldn’t consider Christmas red — you don’t want everyone to be Ho! Ho! Ho!-ing through your ceremony. However, cranberry red and a deep forest green is a fantastic combination.
