Garden Weddings: Butterfly Release

More and more couples are planning garden weddings at parks, botanical gardens and hotel courtyards. If you want to do something beautiful and special during your outdoor wedding, consider a butterfly release. A butterfly release is environmentally safe and unique, compared to releasing balloons, throwing rice or tossing bird seed.

You can keep the butterflies on display in beautiful cages throughout your wedding ceremony and then release them at some point during the event (for example, after the kiss, or when you are walking back down the aisle in the recessional).

Oftentimes the flower girl or ring bearer release the butterflies, but anyone in your wedding party or family can do so.  You can also order single butterflies in small boxes to be released by each of your guests.

flutterbuys.ca and other butterfly vendors can tell you more about planning a butterfly release during your wedding or reception. Visit their website for pricing and more information.
